18% of phase 3 election candidates accused in criminal cases, 29% are crorepatis: Report
The Supreme Court has issued a stay on the implementation of the Allahabad High Court's order for a court-monitored survey of the Shahi Idgah adjoining the Krishna Janmabhoomi temple in Mathura. Advocate Reena N Singh, representing the Hindu side, confirmed the development, he said "The top court has stayed the Allahabad High Court order that allowed a survey (of the Shahi Idgah mosque adjoining the Krishna Janmabhoomi temple in Mathura). The court has also issued a notice to the Hindu side and sought its response. The next hearing will now be held on January 23".
While staying the implementation of the Allahabad High Court's order, the Supreme Court allowed proceedings before the Allahabad High Court to continue in cases related to the dispute over the shifting of the Shahi Masjid Idgah. This decision comes after the Supreme Court, on January 5, dismissed an appeal against the Allahabad High Court order that rejected a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking recognition of the Mosque site as Krishna Janmabhoomi and the removal of the mosque.
